Finding Your Voice in France
You speak French. But speaking to the French? That’s a whole different story.
You know what you want to say. Yet at a school meeting, an administrative appointment or around a lively dinner table, getting the words out can feel surprisingly difficult.
I help English-speaking women living in France speak with more confidence, stand their ground and feel more like themselves in French.
Sound like yourself. Feel heard.
Perhaps you rehearse a conversation beforehand, then lose your train of thought. Someone interrupts and you struggle to get back in. Or you leave an appointment thinking of everything you wish you’d said.
Together, we work on the situations that matter to you:
Speaking up at your child’s school.
Asking clear questions and following up with French administrations.
Joining conversations, disagreeing and setting boundaries.
Preparing for an interview.
Presenting your work and answering questions.
You bring a real situation. We clarify what you want to say, practise saying it and work on how to hold your ground when the conversation takes an unexpected turn.
A little about me
I’m Cécile Delarue, a French journalist, filmmaker and speaking coach. After living in the US, I know how strange it can feel to have plenty to say and struggle to sound like yourself in another country.
I bring my experience of interviews and public speaking to help you organise your thoughts, use your voice and make yourself heard. We can work in French and switch to English whenever it helps.
How we work together
We start with a free introductory call to talk about what feels difficult and what you’d like to change.
Individual sessions last 90 minutes and cost €200. Each session focuses on your needs, with time to practise, get feedback and try again.
You already speak French. Let’s help you feel more comfortable using it when it matters.
